The livestock unit KOTOPOULOS ILIAS & Co. G.P., based in Avato, Xanthi, is a family business, fully equipped with modern means for calf rearing. We are active in calf rearing and beef production in meat and milk for three generations.

In the heart of Thrace, the place where we come from, we continue implementing our vision in a modern unit, in order to offer the consumer quality and safe meat products. In our modern facilities, calves are reared. It is a family - type operation in which all members of the family contribute to the effective management and functioning of the farm.

With the help of specialized scientists, with a lot of passion and effort, the farm is constantly being upgraded, setting increasingly ambitious goals. In this direction, the contribution of the specialized scientists collaborating with the rearing is also important, especially Mr. Kotopoulos, who defines the nutritional program of the rearing and designs its management plan.

The current and future goal of the rearing is the genetic improvement of the animals, with emphasis on increasing quantity and improving the quality of the meat, as well as the production of breeding animals resistant to diseases that threaten modern farms. Most of the animal feed for the nutrition of the livestock is self - produced (barley, wheat, corn, alfalfa hay, vetch). Thus, the rearing is largely self - sufficient and can meet the animals' nutritional needs with top - quality and fully controlled feed.

Our unit has modern facilities which contribute to the health and well - being of the animals and also facilitate daily operations. Our vision is to offer consumers quality and safe meat products. Our calves are fed natural, plant - based feeds, following all certification standards.
